A type of ferroelectric in which the elementary dipoles strictly vanish in the paraelectric phase. The atomic displacements in the low-temperature (ferroelectric) phase with respect to their corresponding positions in the high-temperature (paraelectric) phase are small compared to the inter-nuclear distances.
