A
magnetic characterization technique performed to
examine the anisotropy and distribution of easy axes for assemblies of
magnetic nanoparticles. This is accomplished by applying
a large, saturating field simultaneously with a small oscillating magnetic field
perpendicular to the saturating field, thereby producing a precession of the
magnetic moments in the sample. Dynamic susceptibility as a function of field
strength and orientation are generally measured.
