Nanobodies are smaller versions, about a tenth of
the size, of antibodies that fight infections in the human body and other
animals. Nanobodies
are currenly a subject of considerable research in the medical community and
some have shown remarkable ability to arrest the growth of tumors and fight
other diseases in laboratory environments. Nanobodies
are derived from the antibodies found in the blood of camels and llamas,
which differ significantly from the antobodies found in the rest of mammals.
